Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water systems, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.
